VicYPAA and the AA Australia Services Structure

VicYPAA falls under the classification of a 'Special Event' according to the Australian AA Service Manual and operates under Guideline 14 of the Australian AA Service Manual, Section 14, which can be downloaded HERE.

VicYPAA is also developing a handbook that contains information such as position descriptions and the committee structure to assist new committees to orient themselves to the roles.

VicYPAA operates with the support of the Southern Region, Area C, the Inner City District, Eastern Hills District and Peninsula Districts.

 

The Committee

After each convention, a new committee is elected from the general membership of AA.

The committee meetings are held at 7:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month in the meeting room at the Chris Gahan Centre, on Greville St Prahran, and all members of Alcoholics Anonymous are welcome to attend and get involved.

Subcommittees (e.g. the convention subcommittee and the fundraising subcommittee) and working groups may be formed for specific functions from those attending the committee meetings, whether the person be an elected committee member, or a general member of AA.

The committee portfolios are: Chair; Vice-Chair; Treasurer; Secretary; Program coordinator; Fundraising and Events coordinator; AusYPAA Coordinator; Marketting & Design; Communications; AusYPAA liaison; and Service & Groups Liaison.
