VicYPAA statement of purpose
VicYPAA stands for Victorian Young People in Alcoholics
Anonymous. Each year since 1995 VicYPAA has hosted an annual
convention round-up held in January. The convention round-up is
organised by a committee of enthusiastic young people in AA
as a celebration of recovery, unity and service. We are a group
of young members active in service, working for the benefit
of all AA.
VicYPAA is all-inclusive, never exclusive
or forbidding. It is open to all persons concerned with a drinking
problem, irrespective of age. We are an autonomous group funded through
our own fund-raising activities and therefore self-supporting.
Surplus funds created from convention round-ups
will be held in trust by the Advisory Committee and disbursed
by the collective group conscience of the Advisory Committee.
VicYPAA has but one primary purpose: to carry the message to
other alcoholics who still suffer.
Al-Anon and Alateen
statement of purpose
The purpose of Al-Anon and Alateen is to help families
and friends of alcoholics by offering hope and friendship and
better understanding of the effects on themselves of someone
else's drinking.
